@Blink; Glad more people around here have watched it. Usually people are just in the "subs over dubs" mindset by default so they just label all dubs as awful, something I can only think came about for them after watching one bad dub.

Recently I've been watching things dubbed for convenience sake: I won't need to look at subs.
As long as I can tolerate it, of course, but many of them are not as bad as people make it seem. A few are actually better dubbed, honestly.

[color=#006FFF]My thoughts exactly. I've seen several dubs that I find to be better than the originals. Sometimes I just think the voices fit better, other times it's for things I just wouldn't be able to notice in the Japanese dub like accents. There's a lot more you can notice in a voice when it's speak your native tongue and those subtle differences really push the voices forward for me. Baccano!, for instance, has New York/urban accents for the vast majority, if not all, of its characters and they work incredibly well at helping the immersion of the series overall. In Michiko & Hatchin, Michiko's voice is much more urban and "real" compared to what I can tell from the original Japanese one (though I do enjoy her Japanese voice).

The only dubbed anime that I can see people being adamantly against are ones that involve many high pitched voices (i.e. most anime nowadays) like 99% of slice of life anime and several others. There aren't really those kinds of voices in English (not as many anyway) so it's harder to find a match for that when dubbing. And when they're dubbed we usually end up getting voices that sound a little more than forced and it ends up hurting the dub. The worst at this I would say are Aniplex. Their dubs are the ones I can see people complaining about; things like Bodacious Space Pirates, Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill (though KLK's sounds good enough based on the trailer), etc. It's just weak. FUNimation is easily the company I consider to be the best when it comes to dubs because they try for more realistic voices while also making it sound as authentic as possible--I think the most spot on voice they've ever done with keeping it like the Japanese is Brook from One Piece. It's glorious.

@Zam; you mean the final hardest level in the game? My brother and I tried that four at least 2 hours all together and we could never beat it. We can get to the last stage of it but we never have enough by the time we get there. Awesome job if that's the one you beat! Freaking hard as hell.

Yeah, that level was torture. The worst part is for completion you gotta beat it with every character...

Black Lagoon and Fullmetal Alchemist made a lot more sense to me in English, as well. Subtle accents and such, yeah, add to the experience.

I actually haven't really made that connection until now, I havent really listened to any Aniplex dubs... Though I have enjoyed a good amount of Funimation dubs.
