Lol, you're a pro. I decided to play it safe with laundry and kept the washes fairly cool, just so the bright colours didn't run.
Well, to improve stamina, it's more about how long in time you do exercise for, not distance. But 2km is good - that's 80 lengths on a 25m pool. Just switch the pace a bit though - do 2 quick, 2 slow etc. That way the heart-rate changes all the time, which improves the cardiovascular quicker.
