Star Trek doesn't have killer robots that call organic beings "meatbags." Or Podracing. Or cool armor. Or a lot of other cool things.
Star Trek was never really about being cool though, it was about exploration and adventure. Unlike Star Wars, Star Trek always presented itself as plausible for the most part and that's why it's so easy to get caught up in the drama. I think they're two completely different beasts though, Star Trek is a TV series and (Barring the JJ Abrams films) even the films are just like long episodes. Whereas Star Wars is a movie and there's no real escaping that. There's far less Star Wars than there is Star Trek and there's even less that's actually good in the Star Wars series. In the end it always comes down to a matter of preference but Star Wars seriously lacks the substance of the Star Trek series.

I would say the same.
Star Wars is a movie
Star Wars isn't what it is because of the movies. It is what it is because of the lore that has been generated by the books and games. Well, the Clone Wars series was actually pretty good, minus that retarded Darth Maul arc they made. That never happened.

If we're only talking about the movies and shows, I would agree.
