Hi! I've decided to post here, if it isn't dead. Also I want to see what the people here have to say.
(Forgive English mistakes I can't check grammar just wanted to get my thoughts down before I lose them.)
I agree with more details.
But I also like the yanderes that have a presence meaning you see her or him many times but the yandere works behind the scenes one example I can certainly think of is the example from my intro, Rinka. We didn't know till the very end that she was involved, and that was just neat.
I've never cared to see the act of killing, rather the reason why and how the girl or guy reacts. (I'll try to think of ways to elaborate on this more. But currently I'm drawing a blank)
Mushroom brings up a great thing, a conscience, that would be pretty great to see more of and how it goes for her/him. (Drawing a blank on this as well)
When I come up with more I'll post again.
In relation to what Amy's said I think there should be about four stages. The confusion phase asking question's like "What is going on or why am I feeling this way or what brought this on?" Usually they leave it up to the yandere thinking about the protagonist being my only friend when I was younger or that he saved me from... (I.e. Parents, bullies, and etc), I'd like to see this expanded into other ways.
The second phase should be the build up phase. why am I going through this, could there be something wrong? What do the people around me think of my actions? Just what is causing this? Should I embrace it or reject it. Also events that could affect this is for example the blue-haired girl from Yandere the VN. I personally think she was a just stalker till they had sex for the first then she became a yandere.
The third is the climax (or maybe the breakdown) asking questions like, I accepted what I feel now what will I do about it? Should I worry about others? Should I remove the obstacles that are stopping me? That kind of stuff would occur at this phase. The longer the build up (second phase) go would probably affect this.
The fourth would be the regret/consequences/ and should gives us a conclusion on what she or he does with herself after. Does she capture the person and keep him, does she lose and kill themselves that kind of stuff.
An example I'll use is Rinka, spoiler for content that may be inappropriate and may offend.
Remember Yanderes Rule.
First Phase
She had a crush on him because they were brother and sister she was close with him and being young she had her first crush on him and those feelings just grew. She also couldn't really break herself away from him. sadly those would be her last good memories that we were told about.
Second Phase
Rinka confessed was rejected and then
raped
how do people deal with that at her young age? Well there several different ways but what the author made her do is that she held onto her feeling for her brother her possibly last good memory. While she just resigned to her sad fate hoping that it would become better. Her emotion were probably crazy and she just couldn't think correctly after being so traumatized. I also think her being forced to having abortions and getting pregnant at a young age affected this as well.
Third Phase
Due to gaining "influence" with the guys who hurt her she used them to her advantage and used them to raped her brothers current love interest in exchange for freeing her. Which the love interest resigned to it. Rinka then passively gave video evidence to her brother. Hoping to be her brother's shoulder to cry on and have him make a baby with her. Protagonist said no and we were shown yandere.
Fourth Phase
Not much is told what happened after the except she did get pregnant with his kid, but I like to think she didn't go back.
Conclusion
A lot of this is assumption and thinking a lot of her emotions are never shown, it is after all an H-manga. I do tend to sometimes over think things.
As I said I don't really care about shock value and I even find that it can break the experience, but I like the different phases and the history of the yanderes and I would really appreciate it being expanded upon when a Manga with a yandere even comes out. Sadly I don't think it will but there are interesting ways to go with this trope and I hope the Mangaka's/ Animators experiment with.
