There are two aspects that can appeal to different people, but they can also apply to the same person. It depends on whose place you put yourself in.

If you put yourself in the place of the guy NTRing someone, then this is very easy to understand: you're taking something for yourself. Just by evolutionary psychology, this shouldn't need much explanation.

If you put yourself in the place of the guy being NTRed, then even for me, it's difficult to explain, but I do understand this intuitively because I sometimes like this as well. Since I can't really explain, I'll just be more shameless and give an example.

There's this girl I've liked for about two or three years now, and of course, it's normal that I've fantasized about her (this would be vanilla I guess), but I've also fantasized myself watching other guys with her, and for some reason, this turns me on a lot more.

Somewhere down the line, evolution left a bug in our brains that it didn't really bother to fix...

i could never put myself in the place of a character who was stealing another's lover. that feels terrible to me. having someone stolen away from me feels terrible too. being stolen from the one you love and taken over by someone else feels awful, and being torn into nonexistence (the metaphysical entity of the relationship) doesn't feel. it invokes the fear of the end of my existence and consciousness and ability to percieve.

okay well, think if some girl you've loved for a long time and have been dating/or heck is your fiance is the one getting stolen from. and then some really really aggressive girl who's sex crazed (and apparently doesn't care about much else) then rapes you or balckmails you into sex until you stop loving your long time girlfriend/fiance from all the sex taking over your mind.

It's really not effective on guys...at least in my case, but I could image a girl's position, and then, it feels scary and gross.
