Hello! 23-year-old (almost 24!) female, soon-to-be grad student in New Hampshire, dating a wonderful man who isn't really into anime at all, and working by butt off for my big move in september!
My first anime was "Escaflowne" on foxkids on saturday mornings.
I am more into manga than anime.
I can speak/read/write in Japanese
I have been to Japan <3 THE MOTHERLAND!
I love obscure, awkward manga with high tension situations.
And until a few years ago, I NEVER enjoyed hentai.
Never like yaoi or yuri either...

First off, it's awesome to see ladies here! Yay for hentai and the ladies who like it! (and yay fakku! for being approachable to the ladies. Seriously, some hentai sites make you feel "dirty" just looking them...)

Japan was an amazing experience. I had only studied Japanese for a year before I spent the summer doing an intensive program in Sapporo (in Hokkaido, the northern island!) ALONE!!! I had no friends and didn't know anybody. My first month was miserable until I found some people in my school who spoke English (1 from PA, 1 from NJ, 2 from TX and 1 from the UK!) We had a ton of fun <3
Lesson Learned: NEVER GO TO JAPAN ALONE!!!!
I'm kind of a prude (still am!). I like vanilla and even THAT I want to keep a secret... Hentai was always kinda creepy because all I remember seeing advertisements and snippets of was HUUUUUGE breasts, tentacles (oh goodie lol), really disturbing animated gifs, and copious amounts of semen. Yeah, a lot of that is still there, but it's not the majority! Took me awhile to get over my prejudices against hentai and give it a try. I'm glad I did - there are gems out there for everybody! And I've found stuff I LO~~~~VE!!

Yaoi kinda makes me upset, mostly because it's not cannon. Granted, I appreciate a good slash pairing. (that couple you just KNOW would be great, but never happened!) But when it's so off the track of the story, I just feel like it's doing the series a disservice, ya know? If it's cannon, great, but I probably still won't read it. And WHY do so many girls like yaoi? I wonder if it's cause yaoi has that "tension" and that "sweep you off your feet" romance that most hentai lacks. ::shrug::
