Well, I live near Buffalo, New York where I work as part of the IT department of a major company, however, my true passions in life are anime/manga and video games.
For a long time I actually really didn't like anime or manga I thought the people who liked it were strange and that anime was childish, in January of 2012 I saw a description of Gurren Lagann as "a show about mechs, explosions and boobs." Knowing that these were all things that I liked, I decided to watch the show and really enjoyed it(except for just about everything after the time jump). From there I watched Full Metal Panic! and it's sequels and enjoyed them, however I found myself enjoying the high school romantic comedy sections more than the robot parts, so I started pursuing more of those kinds of shows. However I do sometimes pursue more dramatic shows.
In terms of Anime, I think my favorite series would probably have to be the Bakemonogatari series, Nisemonogatari in particular, though Log Horizon is quickly inching into that spot. I did literally just finish almost all (I've watched eps 1-4 before, just did eps 5-25) of Sword Art Online in one sitting, so I'm still sifting through it all in my head, but the characters were fantastic and the story was pretty good, however I did find the writing tended to be poor so I don't think it'll ever realyl catch on as one of my real favorites.
In terms of Manga I have to say hands down it's Nozomu Tamaki's Dance in the Vampire Bund I think it's an utterly fantastic series that deserves to be required reading for anybody interested even a little bit in supernatural fiction. I also thought the art was constantly fantastic throughout, and it was always clear enough that you could always see what was happening, even during fast paced action scenes. Incidentally I also rank the series as my number one work of fiction of any type, of all time, bar none. The anime version is also worth looking at because it tells a slightly different story.
For H-things I generally stick to all things vanilla, however I generally stay away from school girl stories because they generally weird me out. And to immediately go back on what I said, my number one piece of H content is probably Katawa Shoujo, the visual novel. I'd highly recommend it to anybody who doesn't mind a fantastic story to go with their H-scenes.
And there you have it, everything you probably didn't want to know about me all in a somewhat organized wall of text.
Now we know. thanks for your updates. hope to see you more on the forum.
