I've ordered DNA² as of today. I will be awaiting it eagerly by tomorrow. Can't wait to pry it open and see it. :P

I'm glad I'm not only one who knows the difference between cartoon and anime. It really grinds my gears when call them one in the same.

There really isn't a big difference between anime and cartoon. The ones I can come up with are the art style is different, anime can have gore and are sometimes about taboo subjects such as incest. And that's about it.

Cartoons can have stories. There is cartoon shows aimed for adults and teens.

[size=14]The difference is a cultural one. Anime is marketed towards a japanese audience so it's going to include what the japanese people want and be set in japan. Whereas western cartoons don't have the same clichés to conform to.[/h]

Hey everyone! I just figured i'd introduce myself since there's a convenient location for it on the forums.

Just to let you know, I'm pretty new to the anime scene; being that my friends got me into it about four or so months ago, and ever since I've immersed myself in it completely.

It was funny though; as I'd never really had experience with the anime sub-culture in the least until that point, and it was an awkward topic conversation. It started out as me and my buddy reminiscing about old cartoons we used to watch, like Doug, Angry Beavers, Etc Etc, when the topic of "What cartoons do you watch today?" popped up.

Well, my friend lectured me first of all on how keen the difference between "Cartoons" and "Anime" are (Sorreh!), so needless to say I got an earful from him.

After awhile he handed me some anime to watch (.Hack// SIGN series) and needless to say I was absolutely fascinated with it beyond a belief. I'm a big reader, so watching anime to me is like watching a book-in-animation unfold before my eyes. It's quite the spectacle, and I enjoy it very much. Whats more...the feels ;-; Anime has a way of making me get the feel hammer quite often.

But anyways, nowadays you can hardly find me without a manga in my hand, and in my free-time i'm immersing myself in anime that is either recommended to me by other people or my friends.

My favorite Anime Types are:

• Romance (Oh god i'm a sucker for it. I don't care how unmanly it is.)

• Comedy

• Paranormal

• Action

• Drama

And while most of those pretty much blend with eachother, they are my dead-favorites.

Favorite Anime....Probably the first one I watched at my friends bequest. I'm a big gamer, so .Hack// is incredibly interesting to me.

Oh! I also love Visual novels. My god, you can't get me away from them. Recently played one called Katawa Shouji that gave me the feels hammer so bad it was unreal. q.q

But anyways, Glad I could make it here and Hai to everyone. :3

Yuh. I found a boxed set for..quite a bit, but I saw the reviews for it were outstanding, so I decided it must have been worth it.

It's supposed to arrive tomorrow'ish. Too bad i'll be busy most of tomorrow and the day after with an Interview at Lowe's for a job.

.hack//SIGN was one of my first anime. Loved it. I just want to say that in terms of VNs, play Sengoku Rance. It's the most hilarious VN you will play and has actual gameplay to it (as opposed to just click and read).
