Introduction

What a witty title eh? I'll try to make this as concise as I can.

I've been searching for a community to settle into for some time now and I think I've finally found the right place. So this is my official introduction as a member of the community. Contrary to how incredibly Russian my alias sounds I have no Russian heritage in my ancestry, nor can I write, read or speak Russian. So, please, for the love of god, do not write or speak to me in Russian.

I'm an atheist Buddhist. I currently work as a Software Engineer and IT Manager within the oil & gas industry, the hours are fucking terrible but I love what I do so it's not really work for me. If you can't already tell by looking at my avatar, I'm a smoker, any hate generated towards me for smoking will immediately be met with zero fucks.

I enjoy software engineering, gaming, sound engineering, writing/reading literature & graphic design; in that order. I mainly go for vanilla and yuri, not a huge fan of tentacles but I used to be; when I'm in the right mood sometimes rape, monsters, futa and lolis pique my desires. Oh, and DFCs are indeed delicious. There isn't anything out there that truly disgusts me, I find vore and guro to be quite laughable most of the time rather than exciting.

I'm honest, I try not to offend people by saying what I think non-stop, but if a subject arises that I'm passionate about I will not mince words. I like debating and prefer to do it in a proper manner, if you can't hold up a decent argument, please do not try to enter into a debate with me.

I'm pretty sure those rules don't apply to private messages, I'm also likely to come into contact with people who frequent the forum using other services like Skype, etc.

Anyways, welcome to the forums. You seem like the kind of person who would enter Serious Discussion. Be careful and try not to get into an argument with Lustful Angel. He can hold an argument, but it's crap that is so powerful it cuts a hole through the ozone layer. Make sure to lurk first if you plan on entering IB (Incoherent Babbling) and never take anything seriously in there unless you would like to give everybody a laugh.

What kind of music do you like?

I listen to and like pretty much everything but mainstream rap, the whole slapping hoes and killing 'niggas' thing just isn't my style. I enjoy artists like Immortal Technique though. I've really been getting into Chillstep lately, always been a huge fan of house and even more-so of chiptune and love anything with a funky tune. I enjoy dubstep from time to time but mainly only at raves with 40k+ watt speaker systems. My favorite artist, singer-songwriter and musician is Damon Albarn, who created the Gorillaz, which, as you can imagine, is also my favorite "band".

Atheism is the lack of belief in a God or Gods, not lack of belief in spirituality and there is no God in most forms of Buddhism. So, it is entirely possible to be an atheist Buddhist. Also, Buddhism does not have a list of beliefs set in stone like so many other religions, it is open to interpretation, which is why it appeals to so many.

You do not ascend to godhood when you achieve enlightenment. In a very basic form, achieving enlightenment is just reaching a state of total happiness and Buddha is a name for anyone who has achieved full enlightenment. Siddartha Gautama, the original Buddha and founder of Buddhism, was and is not a god, he is not a deity either; he was originally an Indian prince but later became a vagabond spreading teachings of how he attained happiness in the hopes of ending the suffering of others.

It takes a strong will and courage to admit when you are wrong, but it only takes five seconds of study and a little effort to ensure you are always right and do not insult someone out of ignorance.

Ok "IT Manager of the Gas and Oil Company" I was in no way trying to troll you, or trying to blast bullshit in your face. It also takes a split second to realize your job description holds up to truth, as if the Oakland Raiders are going to win the Super Bowl in 2014. But i'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

I never stated you were trying to troll me or "blast bullshit in my face", what brought you to believe that? I wrote that you insulted me by trying to tell me about my own beliefs which you clearly didn't know anything about. I'm not the only person in the world who would feel that way either, I'm sure if I took your personal beliefs and told you they were something they're not you'd be offended as well.

There a pretty big difference between trolling someone and insulting them, the latter is forgivable and I don't hold any ill feelings towards you for it. All I was asking is that, next time, you do a little research so you actually know what you're talking about and can avoid offending people.

OT:

I also work in the oil & gas industry as an IT guy and frac engineer. I say "IT guy" because I don't actually have a fixed position, I do a little bit of everything but lately I've been writing a lot of code.

If you don't mind me asking who do you work for? Also, welcome to the forums, you seem like a cool guy/girl.

I'm male, I work for a company that deals with fracing as well, not too inclined to say who it is as we're fairly small and someone would be able to figure out who I am pretty quickly. Essentially we analyze well data, process it, store it in a database and offer neat graphs and charts to our clientele, as well as consulting services. We also whore out our boss as a frac engineer, doing stuff like monitoring and overseeing fracs.

Oh so you're a data pimp? :P And your boss is actually using some of my code :3, the company I work for wrote the satellite software and overlay that provides the real-time data to the engineers overseeing the frac. We got picked up by Baker though so I haven't gotten to write anything interesting in a while ;_;

Yeah, we're data pimps, but not in the standard way. That's neat, I've been with the boss on some of the frac oversights for training in case someone ever needs to do one while he's not around so I've gotten a chance to take a look at the front-end of the software, you guys did a good job as far as I can tell.

I used to work for Baker, but I got tired of working in a cubicle. Pay was good but I just can't stand being in a cubicle.
