Hey I have have been on this site for a while and I have had an account but I have always been afraid to come out and talk to people on the forums. It seems really hard to start conversations and things like that. I am afraid of judgement and being alienated so I mostly lurk and watch people post things on the site and enjoy it but now I want to try to meet some people on here.

That sounds like a lot of unnecessary stress... To be honest with you, the community has so many weirdos that one more isn't gonna make too much of a difference. And weirdos are good btw, I'm probably one of them! Even if you did get judged by someone, who cares? You won't ever meet them in person anyway (unless you have very very very bad luck LOL).
