Sake is good But to answer your question a good Sake is 40 proof, cheep hard liquor is 80 so basically double what cheep Hard Liquor would take.

Jose Cuervo is my best friend, but I've been drinking blackberry brandy for a while now. The shit I get is like $15 for a reasonably sized bottle and it just goes down so fucking smooth. To be totally honest, I can buy a bottle and sip on it like its fucking juice... and that's what I've been doing for months.
