Anybody here use contacts?

Anybody using contact lenses?
If so what is your opinion of them?

yeah, i had them for years. they're okay if you get the right ones for your eyes. beware of cheap ones, they will make your eyes burn like crazy

Contacts were an amazing addition to my life back when I started using them. They give you better vision than glasses (all of your eyes' range of sight is used instead of having parts cut off at the end) and allow you to be much more physically active (I thought it was really crappy to play a lot of sports with glasses on, given fogging and sweat and glasses sliding around). Aesthetic purposes could come into play too, some people are just not meant for glasses.

Drawbacks:
1. The first day is a bitch and a half putting 'em in and taking 'em out, but this should really be negligible in the grand scheme of things
2. Daily maintenence (basically just leaving them in solution), but you shouldn't be this lazy anyways
3. Expense. Without insurance it can get pretty pricey, I get the bi-monthly ones and have insurance so the co-pay is only about 20$/6months worth of contacts, but I know people who pay significantly more ($200+ ranges). Even this isn't so bad though, 30$/month isn't terrible.

All in all, I give a thumbs up to contacts.

I used to use them, but got tired of waking up in the morning and putting them in. I'm thinking of switching back to contacts again because my glasses always slide down my nose, lol.

I have thought of switching to contacts, but like Miyuki from Lucky Star, I am afraid of putting strange objects into my eyes. *sweats*

Even though I am not sure if the following is true, some of my friends claim that contact lens are not suitable for people with a high degree of myopia... and I believe I fall under that category.

Yeah I use contacts too. I switched back and forth from glasses and contacts a while back, but I decided I looked better with contacts. 8)
I use colored blue contacts because they are far easier to tell if you have them in or not and easier to find if you drop them. Besides I just like blue eyes. :wink:

I have the same problem, luckily mine didn't break when it landed on concrete. :?

A couple of downsides to contact lenses: It gets harder to go swimming spontaneously. You have to remember to clip your fingernails frequently.(seriously) The biggest upside for me is the no fogging though, definetly.

I prefer glasses. I've always been a hardcore nerd, and I think they suit me. Sport isn't an issue, but they can be cumbersome to clean before you watch some hentai [need that clarity!]

Also, meganekko ftw. -Rin, she doesn't go well with glasses. Otherwise, most other characters work.
