Anyone collect vinyl these days?

If so, please describe in detail. If not, then maybe explain why not. If you have a discogs then you win.

Why? Because they're sexier than CDs and you can usually find better deals on them.


I have a pretty weak collection but I've come across some good stuff lately.
Last LPs I got were Akuma no Uta and Feedbacker by Boris.

My dad still has his collection from the old days, but since he doesn't have an LP player anymore, he's selling everything. Anyone interested in buying? Haha.

Oddly, this is somewhat true (not the sexier part - that's 100% true).

Also, a good number of my favorite tunes were only released on vinyl (white labels, unofficial releases, dubplates) and likely will never surface on iTunes or CD (though you can download ripped versions of YouTube these days).

I also agree that's a hobby (I associate my taste with certain labels - i.e. I don't care about knowing the song beforehand, but knowing what label's putting it out. I collect.)



Specifics?

Not overly, but If one peeks my intrest that I think might sound better on vinyl then cd. Then I'm all for getting Vinyl. Only one cd has done that so far and that is Coheed & Cambria's " No World For Tomorrow ". And truthfully in my opinon it sounds a bit better on vinyl then it does on cd.

I inherited a whole bunch. I don't really go out of my way to collect, though.
