Hehe, not at all. For the longest time I wanted to be an Egyptologist because I have such a huge fascination with the ancient Egyptian culture, but I could never do field work because I hate hot weather. Most of high school though, and what I had prepared to go to college for before I decided not to go at the last minute, was to major in Economics.
I still wouldn't mind pursuing either of those two in the future, but I also don't mind just having a casual job (enough to support myself) and living the way I do. I hate that they taught us (at least in the U.S. anyway) that we are are special, and destined for great things, and that all of us should go to college and make something of ourselves that will help improve society, and etc... When they never bothered to tell us that college and some high-end "fancy" career isn't for everyone. It's a shame that they instill this false hope into so many kids nowadays. We can be whatever we want and not all of us are destined to do "great" things.
I always wanted to be a superhero growning up, kind of the same way Emiya Shirou did in FSN, and I still do... XD
I agree with Tsurayu earlier that not everyone should be stuffed with the idea that they should go to college, but I do think everyone should or atleast has the capablities to be something great.
I just always wanted to achieve great things not to impress anyone else, but to impress myself. I have a great life that I am greatful for, but I still want and expect that my best days are ahead.
Plus I thought I'd grow up to be a black man... but that didn't happen...
Well I honestly don't really know what I want to be but right now I'm currently working to be a Physical Therapist. Councilor said that getting in would be very difficult but hey it makes good money and it won't be outsourced overseas.
i thought that i will turn out to be a geek or a nerd because i wanted to be a scientist or some other smart shit like that when i was just a wee-lil-boy... and i'm glad i didn't AND i'm happy of who i am right now...
Currently looking for a career in TEH ARMED FORCES!

When i was 5 i wanted to be a pokemon trainer...
Everyone In my Family Lol'ed...
I was Like...WTF? why are u guys laughing?!?! im serious!?!?
Then i Cried...
Now im like...
WHY Would I want to be a pokemon trainer again???
I actually wanted to be alot of things when i was little, but at some point changed my intrests. Like I wanted to be a paleontologist(I digged in backyard for awhlie looking for fossils), marine biologist(what do they do anyway?), vet (..You have to stick you hand in a dogs butt??? EWWW!), and work in the fish department of kmart(...now there isn't even a kmart here).
I would always draw though and now i'm a Fine Arts major. Didn't know my hobby would become anything more than that but I love it more than anything. So even if I'm not who my child-self imagined...well its better than sticking hands inside animals...but I appreciate that there are people brave enough to do that.
Can't complain about how I'm turning out. I join the Air Force next year with plans to be a computer technician. Although I had originally wanted to be a pilot, I found that working with computers was more of a realistic goal (and really fun to boot)
Going to medical school, having enough money to care for myself, and being a reasonable(for the most part) person. Yes, I'd say that I'm very much who I wanted to be back when I was a child.
