^ Same. I eat balot - though I still have qualms about munching on the dead duckling, it feels like dead mush on my tongue. I eat the yellow and the white part of the egg, though. Oh, and the liquid inside is OK as well.
Just eat it with spicy vinegar and/or table salt.

I believe what you're referring to is salted egg, aka "itlog na maalat". Always a favorite side dish/garnish in Philippine party food, such as pansit and puto.
