Best MKV/OGM to AVI converter

can someone share their Best MKV/OGM to AVI converter with me??if it need multiple of software to work it, please tell me also the step by step in converting this..

I use SUPER. try that one. Free, can convert to almost any video/audio format...

idk why, but this SUPER cant convert full stories(input 240mb, output 16mb???)..does it need to be setting coz i dun make any changes in setting after install it..

edit: i have try alltoavi converter since it look nice, but it also a failure..after the conversion, the pic of the stories is divided into two part, where the upper one is good but the lower one seems broke..anyone who have used this software have any idea why this happen..

seems like i cant download from mediafire coz when my IDM state that the status is 99.99%, it stop at there n not move again(stuck in there)..
can u upload it in other site e.g:usaupload,uploads.bizhat.com or other that u prefer..thanks

after several times used that winavi video converter, i found that some mkv/ogm can't be converted into avi..it just lag n then the window alert come out(the send n dont send alert)..any idea how this happen..
btw, i didn't change anything of it setting..

I normally use a program called Mediacoder. Which you can find here. It pretty much can convert almost anything. (Only thing I've seen it not convert is .bik video)

Super is a great (Simple.) program, I'd recommend it to you - the input > output just describes how the video got reduced in it's size after converting - it's probably such a big difference because the standard settings greatly reduced the video in it's quality (Like aspect ratio, for example.).

Just fit the options to the original video before converting and it should be fine.

the winavi is the best(i think)coz it does not reduce the quality of the movie(and also fast converter)..it sad coz it cant support certain .mkv.. so i need a new converter that have the same quality as winavi..

omg, OGM filetype suckz; srsly. I just torrented a bunch of videos, some in avi format, which is gud, cuz they will play fine. But a bunch of them were in ogm format, and after trying three different codec packs, and a pair of players, I still haven't found one that works properly to play them. Either the subtitles don't work, or they are shitty and offset to the side, or the audio is a fucked up hybrid of japanese and english playing the same thing at the same time. Does anyone know of a solution to this, whether it be to convert them to avi or another filetype, or the simpler way of just downloading something to play them on that will work? If so, I would be most grateful for the assist. I had been looking forward to adding the bible black series to my collection of stuff on my external drive. I suppose that if push comes to shove, I could find individual torrent files for each one in a workable format, but that would take for-fucking-ever. Any bright ideas?

I'd recommend you take a look at the VLC player, this should solve all your codec and format problems. (I personally love this one.)

Alternatively try the CCCP and play the .ogm files with the included MPC/Zoom player.

HafisUN - Banfrog strikes twice. Well, I took another look at super, and I guess the defaults should be all right for pretty much everything you might want to convert, just be sure to choose 'no change' at the video scale. This should also avoid the huge loss in size, and doesn't noticeable affect the quality. It doesn't get much easier than that.

awwww..i had convert using super with that 'no change' in video resolution (that the only thing that i change), the video quality is low or same as MKV to AVI Converter that u can find HERE..the way this converter show the subtitle after the convert session is more better than SUPER.. :) :)

@Gremlin:try donwload k-lite mega codec(include with media player classic)..this is the only player i use and it work fine..VLC also OK..

If I were to convert a mkv file into an avi, would the subtitles that didn't work when it was a mkv work after being converted into avi?

Well, I don't possess that much knowledge of the details on how all the various formats are actually working, but I'd say it depends on why it didn't work earlier. The information of the subtitle tracks probably won't even get changed in the act of converting. If the subtitles won't work in the matroska video while everything regarding it's dependencies is working properly it's eventually just a bad file.
