Bios

My computer needs a Bios upgrade but the only way I've found is I have to save it to a FLOPY! WHO THE FUCK HAS A FLOPY! Can anyone help me find a new way to get a Bios upgrade.

A) *Floppy
B) Motherboard model, maker, BIOS upgrade
C) If it's too old, then go buy some floppy disks. If it's newer, there may be another way.

I'm also pissed off because I also don't have a flopy drive. AHH THIS IS HORRIBLE!

You can do it without a floppy drive, I don't know how but I know you can.

I think all you really need is a usb flash drive, just download the bios update, then extract it to a flash drive, you should be able to boot from the flash drive. I'm pretty sure that's how it works, but I could be wrong.

I don't know if this will work man, but I tried to find some info on that and I found that this site has something on that situation so I hope it helps some :wink:

Well I don't know if you have solved your problem already, but if not I'll try to explain how you update your bios.

First you just have to put the bios file on your USB flash drive.
Then restart your computer and during the booting process hit delete(Actually it depends on your motherboard which button you have to press. If you have the manual look there)

Then you get a screen where you can change many different settings of your pc. Depending on your motherboard the screen looks often different but here is an example of how this screen looks like:

Select the category boot and as you can see under the category boot you can change the order how your system boots. So you just have to put for example removable devices on the first place, cd-rom second, harddrive third... etc.

After that you just need to save the changes and exit which often is done if you press F10
