Why not twitter though ? you have to refresh the page on the forum for the code :/
Because:
1) Some people are getting the codes ridiculously fast, so you'll have the same people stacking up a bunch of codes, which defeats the purpose of giving out codes in the first place, and that is to generate interest with as many people as possible, so that perhaps they'll buy a book or a subscription.
2) All the people who are interested in getting codes have already signed up a Twitter account and followed them. So there's probably already a spike in follower count and now it has fallen back down. So, it's better for them to redirect traffic back to the site itself because any follow count increase on Twitter will be marginal. This point is pretty moot though because it only rewards people who have way too much time on their hands (i.e. desperate enough) and from an advertisement/marketing aspect, it doesn't really benefit them in anyway when it comes to attracting new visitors. It does help generate interest within the existing pool of Fakku visitors though.
So, codes on Twitter is like hoping to tap into the 'broader audience' via social media, while codes here is using the 'core audience' (for lack of better terms), which to be honest, is probably better. Make the core audience happy because word of mouth is a powerful tool. And who knows, you might get a few white knights to help dispel the stigma of Fakku, as there are still a lot of unhappy people in the H-community. But that's just what happens when piracy is what you've known all of your life, and you're unable to see the potential of this medium.
Unnecessary spiel, heh. lol ;)
