Bored with BitComet. So time to get a new torrent software.

I like BitComet, sure. I been using it since last year.

But i am bored with it and i heard lots of people using uTorrent, BitTorrent, Azureus, etc etc.

What i like to know is what you guys using it and recommend me what the torrent software i should use or not to change at all and stick to BitComet.






Quick Question: I dunno. Different Torrent Software different DL and UL speed no?

I use FlashGet.

I don't think it affect your speed, but I haven't proved it yet, So I'm still asuming here.

Torrents I use uTorrent, and Direct Downloads I use Flashget.

uTorrent for Windows.

Well, it really depends on what you want. Azureus has a bunch of features uTorrent doesn't(nor wants to) have, while uTorrent is a very lightweight, silent application.

Not to mention the fucking awesome web interface on uTorrent!

uTorrent, if you want ease of use and fast downloads try it. Another alternative is Operas built in torrent downloader. Which is almost as fast as uTorrent(<3 Utorrent. They did an amazing job.) but not quite.

Azureus is a sort of a memory hog. It won't crash your system or anything, but for the tasks it performs I say it's too demanding. utoorent is way lightweight and does everything I could ask for. Unless I'm running osx, then I bust some Transmission.
If you end up using bit torrent a lot it's worth looking into forwarding your ports as well.

I wonder, can anyone compare the actual Bittorrent program with other contenders like Azureus, uTorrent, and Bitcomet? I'm kinda frustrated with it since it slows my internet at regular intervals.

Assuming your ports are already open, uTorrent has the ability to encrypt the data its sending. This is near meaningless- unless your provider is comcast, inwhich they they "adjust" your upload speed, which makes the internet unbearably slow when trying to do other tasks on it. Other programs may also be able to do this, I was more trying to address what your problem may be directly.

I was using BitLord. Soon after i saw the light and switched over to uTorrent. One of the better decisions in my 19 year lifetime.

i use uTorrent the most, i think it is the most efficent to my needs.
BUT! i also use Azureus/Vuze bcuz i like it too. :lol:

I've used utorrent for a long time. but the more torrents i download the more i feel i need to have a real torrent manager like Vuze which btw you can disable the gui to classic interface and other plugins to free up resources etc. most people just fail at installing java properly the reason complaints about memory arise

bitcomet is kinda lame with all that file padding it forces other clients to see.

i prefer to use share on windows and vuze on linux
