Has any of you ever used it before?
See, I'm moving to Georgia in two months to get a heads start of my new life down there. School doesn't start until August, but I figured I wanted to go down early to get a job, get settled, etc before school started.
I made up a resume, well - updated it, and was on CareerBuilder and they have a lot of job listings etc. Though a lot of them are pretty vague.
Basically I was almost scammed.
I submitted my resume and I got an email about an hour later I got an email saying:
At first it's like, wow - a response. Then it's wait.. why's it so fast? Then the thought is that if they read my resume they'd notice the note I put under my address information that says:
"Please note that my address will be changing by May due to my acceptance to Life University in Georgia."
So.. I can't exactly go for an interview, but I figured maybe they just wanted to phone screen me.
But then I realized I didn't know much about the company. So that made me feel weird.
Like, my first job at Subway, I walked in knowing I'd be making subs. Best Buy, I walked in knowing I'd be selling electronics. This place all I knew was I'd be dealing with customer service.
So I googled the address since the name wasn't provided.
This is what I found:

Yeaah. It upsets me, especially with the way economic times are right now. People desperately need jobs and then people like this take advantage of people who just want to work.
Has anyone used these websites and get a job from them? I'm still gonna try, but I'm just gonna be really careful, because I need a job. I'll be staying with fpod and we'll be rooming, but I need to pull my own weight and only have so much money to cushion myself with until I get a job.
It's a big mess, because it's like I want a job before I get down there so I don't run around like a chicken whose head has been cut off trying to find one in time to pay rent.
Bleh. This killed my mood.
