Lolicon hentai is, to the best of my knowledge, not illegal in the U.S., or at least no one has ever been convicted solely for possessing it, since it doesn't represent a "realistic" depiction of a child. The mighty lords of Fakku would prefer it stay out of their image section though. (I learned this the hard way, 100+ uploaded images after the fact. /owned)

last time i checked was about 2 months ago when i was reading a news article. yes their has been many times where theyve tried to convict people in the US possessing lolicon as pedophiles. but none have been convicted because they havent touched a real child and the US government tried to scramble on it back in 2004 (AKA the great lolicon scare) president bush was trying to make it illegal to posses cartoon character under the age of 18 in any sexual acts. *is preventing me from ordering the uncensored version of strike witches, cuz all the witches appear nude and 90% of them are under 18 years of age*. i know for a fact that lolicon is illegal in canada, there has been a few convictions there over lolicon.

It is legal to possess child porn in Japan, but it is still illegal to make it or sell it or share it.

I think you can have CP on your hard drive (for masturbation) in Japan without it being a crime, but you can't create CP or sell it to people.
