Christmas

Hmm, I plan to spend x-mas with my family as usual, although some details are a bit hazy since one of my brothers has to leave the country the day after for business, so we're not sure who's house we will have the x-mas stuff at in order to include him.

As far as gifts go, I asked for some video games(most of which can be found for under $20 now), Firefly, a couple miscellaneous things. I think everything on my x-mas list totals $200 (9 items total), but knowing my family people will get me a variety of other stuff as well. I'm not really sure what to buy for everyone else though, I've got 3 people figured out so far, but still need to think of stuff for 6 people(although 2 are little kids, so they're easy to shop for).

Christmas is going to be sort of retarded for me this year since I'm moving on December 14th and I won't have all my shit unpacked when all my family comes over so the set up is confusing. The wrapping clutter is only going to make the house look more disorganized given that there will probably still be boxes laying around.

Anyway, since I'm a broke ass student I only spend about $100 max between my mother, father, brother, and then I just chip in a few bucks (or at least sign a card) for my other family like my cousins and step brothers.

All I'm asking for this year is money and anime DVDs since I can't think of anything else that isn't crazy expensive or video games.

I'm wishing for Assassins Creed and Heavenly Sword for PS3 (maybe Ghost Recon Modern Warfare). I should be set for a few months with that!

As to what to give, my nephew will likely get the Optimus Prime voice-helmet thing. Not sure about the rest...HAHA! I love spoiling that kid!

I'm in the same boat(although will only be a college student for 2 more weeks). What I did though to be able to afford to get people x-mas gifts was work 2 jobs throughout high school and save a decently large sum of money(part of which went towards buying a car).


Yeah I noticed this as well. I went to the grocery store less then a week after Halloween and it was already covered in x-mas decorations with constant x-mas music playing. I think they stat doing this every year, but it always takes me by surprise. The explanation I've heard is that towards the end of the year people start to worry about the economy for one reason or another so they try to get people to do their x-mas shopping before they realize they need to cut some corners. If thats true, who knows.

I don't mind most x-mas music, although the little drummer boy one really annoys me for some reason. Jingle Bells always seems to get stuck in my head on and off for months past x-mas and even occasionally in the middle of the year. Generally I'm pretty neutral about x-mas music. I do really like muppets x-mas music though, my mom generally has that playing at some point each year when she sets up the tree, so that always makes me nostalgic for past x-mases and anxious for the coming x-mas.

I guess I mainly like the x-mas songs that aren't blatantly religious, but then again I celebrate x-mas for entirely non-religious reasons(being with family and loved ones, etc.)

Off topic: hey this is my 1000th post, and on FAKKU's 1 year anniversary nonetheless. That's kinda neat. :)
And 350th image upload was today, but that's not nearly as cool of a number.
