I'm under the impression that laptops are difficult to upgrade?
I have a pretty beefy desktop comp and I voted comps because of their manly beefiness but I love the thought of perhaps purchasing a cheap laptop to emulate older console games on it during boring public situations.
I used desktop comp cuz for editing, gaming, and browsing internet like "fakku" can handle multitasking. i use laptop frequent if i have to do paperwork... yeah laptop would great for travel purposes.... it's to heavy!
For gaming and anime watching, the 22in wide screen of my desktop winds out. It's a computer i originally got from IBUYPOWER a few years back, but have since rebuilt it personally.
My laptop, a Lenovo, get's used mostly for my programming and, most obviously, when away from home. I find it much easier to work on than the desktop is. Or, more rather, when spending hours writing code, I'd much rather be able to change my scenery every so often. In this case, the desktop is used as a server over my home network.
Both, my laptop is small so gaming on it isn't worthwhile and my desktop has the power to play some semi-old games thanks to someone borrowing my 9800GTX+ and trading it for a x1900XT.
