Crazy Jobs

I was doing some self reflection this morning and realized that I have a pretty wacky employment history, and was wondering if its just me.

in high school i was basically an errand girl for random stuff, like getting groceries or picking up prescriptions for people, in addition to sporadic face painting and cleaning chimneys. Now i work at an "erotic shop," where i am a severely under qualified lingere sales girl, and at the local american apparel, which, if youve ever been inside one, you know is completely absurd.

so, what crazy jobs have you had, and what did they entail?

Not really a crazy job, but I once worked at a Recording Studio where people could come and make music, CDs, and so on. Never met anyone famous but it was cool meeting new people, decent going out to hangup ads, and, overall fun to travel around, visiting new places. Haha... it was pretty nice.

It's more dirty than crazy but..

Been working 2 summers at a camping (can barely call that camping, more like a summer only village) My job was to clean up, specialy activity area and bathrooms. Man it's when i learned that the most dirty people on earth are young boys and old women...

Here something that will sadly stay in my mind:

Boss: Rem', there is a problem with the 3rd toielt man side of the second bloc.
*I go to the second bloc to see what is the problem there*
When i opened the toilet door (those kind of public toilet with walls and door separating them) my jaw dropped...
Shit... everywhere inside... walls, floor, inside the paper box...
At least i'm in a camping, so i took the water hose and woosh...

maal, you win. that is crazy.

Well, I don't know where this ranks on the crazy/awesome spectrum, but I once was hired as part of an ad hoc orchestra to play music at the Russian Embassy in D.C. We played 1812 Overture and a number of waltzes for the dignitaries and rich people to dance to.

that's kinda interesting penelopesays, not reall crazy per say, just interesting, just remember it could be worse nano desu


not bad Maal, but I am a janitor currently and I see a lot of shit, and yea if anyone ever says guys make a mess of bathrooms, women are just as good if not better at that then men are. At least you could hose it off Maal, we had to scrub it off/mop it etc, and don't get me started with vomit clean up procedures nano desu

oh it could definitely be worse, which is why i used "wacky" to describe my jobs, and "crazy" as a guideline for you to describe yours! although i probably should have just said "unusual" for both.

meh that's just each individuals word choice, I mean you could work a graveyard shift at a mortuary and think it an awesome, sweet job, while others would say, crazy, morbid, gloomy etc. a job is what you make of it, call it what u want nano desu

For a while I was actually getting payed to make stencils and spray paint random things.

One of my art professors payed me to make a social-issue art piece, I decided to make the piece on femicide in Juarez, Mexico.
I took a trip to Mexico and did a few interviews, I got to talk to different people who had their wives, daughters, mothers or friends murdered.
I was even able to visit spots where bodies were found, it was a pretty hard time.

For the artwork, I made a large stencil of a woman and painted it on a background filled with bits of interviews, words, and thoughts on the subject.
