Damn, that moved fast! My Effie cover was in Hong Kong this morning and is on the truck out for delivery now. Shit, I wish I had checked before I left home. Now I'll probably miss the delivery because I didn't leave a note on the door asking for them to leave the package. I hate when that happens. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll leave it.
Try calling the local office if you know their number or the 1800 if you don't(though preferably, Google your local office). There's a possibility that they'll leave if if you ask them to. I called them up the morning a package was going to be delivered and had them hold it at their office where I which i was going to be close to while running around. I think they said they could leave it with my verbal consent, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Still, it doesn't hurt to try.
Come on...what do you take me for, a noob?
I'm just playin'. ;)
I called them immediately after seeing that it was out for delivery. The CS rep told me that I had to leave a signed note on the door with the tracking number. That's pretty much what I was expecting they'd say.
Sometimes I've been lucky enough to have the package delivered the same day after the first attempt on account of the driver still being out and about. We'll see what happens. *fingers crossed*
EDIT: "Delivery attempted; recipient not home"
%(&^$@*($! Tried calling again, no such luck. I have to wait until tomorrow now. That is such bullshit. At least with FedEx, if you miss the package you can still go to the distribution center and pick it up at the end of the day. Their dist. centers are open until 7PM. With DHL you have to wait until the next day regardless. Even if it is just one day, it is so damn frustrating. The worst part about all of this is that I was minutes from going home this morning because our office server and internet was down, but then I had to go and fix it...dammit. You know what, I am a noob. I should have checked the shipment status this morning and left a goddamn note rather than hoping they'd leave the package. But in my own defense, I signed up for email notifications and they stopped sending after it arrived in Hong Kong. So that's on them.
Guess I'm more accustomed to USPS, FedEx and UPS just dropping packages off.
DOUBLE EDIT: Got it. Called again and told them that I stopped receiving email updates. I went home, made lunch, signed and left the door tag and went back to work. I just returned home to my package right where I asked for it to be left. Shame I didn't realize that it was smooth knit.
