When it comes to fiction, it really depends on the medium that it is presented in.
For books I enjoy action packed fantasy adventures. For manga I prefer comedies, romance, harem situations, and pretty much any other situation that I'd like to be in myself.
As for non-fiction, usually it'll be some scientific journal or something like that.
Fiction for me. More specifically Fantasy that involves magic like "Name of the Wind" by Patrick Ruthfuss or magical creatures such as "The adventures of Drizzt" by R.A. Salvatore. Also science fiction, such "Neuromancer" by William Gibson. These are all great books that everyone should read.
I'm sorry to say this, but besides biographies or history books, I consider all material I read to be fiction... so I don't get the meaning of this question at all.
Julio Verne: Father of fiction
From earth to the moon: A book that took man from the earth
long ago... is now a reality.
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea: travelling whit Nemo in a submarine
in 1870 was untinkable... now the nautilus(sword of the ocean) is a huge reality
I'm a major fan of fiction. I love fantasy and scifi stuff but I enjoy the down to earth sort of things too. Supernatural and zombie stuff is pretty cool too.
Non fiction is only interesting to me if it has to do with something art related or war history related. I do read a little bit of it, but not very often.
