Ok i see you have some things you can work on. Firstly, were you aiming for a certain artist's style? Or does anyone inspire you? If not i suggest you find one. If you already do have one, i suggest you try to learn how he does things. Like how he draws certain parts of his picture, how he compose it. Copy it, learn it, trace it, whatever. As long as you pick it up as a technique you can use yourself. (Of course, don't draw it then claim it's yours lulz"

Secondly, try to draw full body pictures. This will really help when you need to find more exciting ways to pose.

Thirdly, when you're drawing frontal pictures, try to balance the size of the eyes and the position of the chin. This is easily done by flipping the paper and looking through it in light. Your eyes sees things naturally uneven so this will help you to set things right.

Forthly, when you colour, try to use more depth. Meaning add more different tones to the colour.

Also, try to add more detail to the picture. You can do so by adding more strands to the hair and more details in the skin overlapping.

Next, try to add some blush to give more health into the character.

Lastly, don't say "if is bad pls say so." An artist with low morale will naturally create things they don't desire. Picking yourself up after that will be a lot of pain. Trust me, i've been through that.

There are some areas you could work on, so I will give you some advice. Everyone that tries to draw "anime-style" hates hearing this, but here it is.

The best advice I could give to you, or anyone interested in art, would be to draw from real life. You will learn so many invaluable lessons that you would never learn by looking at a picture drawn by another person. The proper positioning of facial features will be ingrained into your mind. You will learn how to put believable details into your work (being believable is all that matters really). Once you learn to draw from real life, you can then learn to stylize your work, and that's where your originality will come from.

I have spoken to many other artists before, and they said if they had stopped to learn proper anatomy in the beginning, it would have saved them years of work. Don't think that taking a step back to learn the basics will slow you down, it will just help you to move forward even stronger.

I wouldn't say that your art is BAD, the only artist that I consider bad is a stubborn one. If your art shows growth, then it is never a failure.

Actually, i'm one of those assholes that drew anime from the start.... and i drew for 9 years already so ya that's saying something hahahaha. Captain_falcon is right. However, if you DO walk my path, you'll find classical drawing after anime lol-able...

Personally i think you're trying too hard to merge manga and traditional. It's really hard to have a good mix of that. Just keep working on it.

Well there are artists who draw beautiful manga art too. You can reference/take a look at Yamashita Shunya or Tony Taka (more manga then Shunya though). These two artists draw very beautiful anatomy. Shunya in particular, has very nice facial features.

And take a look at Vagabond. Takehiko Inoue does a great job with realistic styled manga.


Tony Taka.... if I could draw like him i'd be able to die happy...

in my opinion, the eyes for manga style are a bit to small... though it may just youre way of drawing .but what does bother me a bit is that its not centered, they tend to tilt to the sides.

Need work on the details and shade layers like ...

- eyes
- hair
- skin
- clothes

Noticed that the hair near her ear is a little off ^_^. Keep posting new Art.

Maybe it's the hand holding the sword. She seems to be missing the arm to it. Looks like it's just floating there.

Well, the final pic turned pretty good with the additional color layers. What I meant from my earlier post are minor details like cloth folds, hair lines, shadow lines, additional design with the background and the sword ... something like that. Don't worry too much, the outcome of your work is good ^_^
