Ex drunken phone call

I've had two of my ex's drunken phone call me, one of them was just yesterday. This isn't just a one time thing either, it's happened a few times. They say they want to get back together, their sorry for what they did, some crying, something around those lines. All I do is try to calm them down and stop them from drinking anymore. I see them from time to time but I never bring up the subject and niether do they.

What do you guys do or think about the ex drunken phone call?

There might be some truth to there words. I mean I would think diffrent if it only happened once but you said it has happened multipe times so they might mean it

it's hard to say...why don't you try bringing this up when they're sober? if they really want you back, they should be able to admit it...

Well, one of them broke up with me cause she wanted to date another guy. The other one I actually caught cheating on me with another guy. Although our relationship as girlfriend and boyfriend didn't work out we still stayed friends, not close friends, but friends none the less. I don't really want to get back together with either of them so I don't bring up that conversation.

My friends tell me the same thing, but I just can't walk past a crying girl without doing something you know.

Then I recommend telling it like it is and tell them you aren't interested as politely as you can when they call.

yes you can just do that. Otherwise maybe they will cheat on you again. Cheater usually remains cheater. Just find yourself a better woman. There are more women than men in the world right?

If they never say it when they're sober I wouldn't get your hopes up (or down I guess depending on the girl).

Well since it is I might as well update at to what happened 3 (or 4 it was a while ago) days after my last last post on this thread. Yeah, The girl that called me up most recently with the drunk call told me she wanted to go out with me again. I said I didn't and it ended with her slaping me and were no longer speaking to each other. We have mutual friends so I still see her, but keep out distance.

Depending on the person...they could really be voicing that they want to change things and go back to how things used to be, or, the alcohol is just making them emotional and making them lose focus on why they don't want to date you or something of that sort.
I've had an ex call me drunk before.
It was a long distance relationship, mostly. I cheated, and felt terrible. And still...he called me a few weeks later, drunk and saying how he wanted to get back together with me again. But he even said he was confused.

I've realized, when drunk, that sometimes I don't concentrate as hard on why I don't do things. Which can explain why sometimes it can leave to mistakes.


All I can say is...it depends on the person. You can't really assume if they were telling the truth or not until you talk to them when they're sober.[/h]

Well alcohol gets rid of your inhibitions, so maybe it just brought to the surface what they couldn't admitt to you or themselves while sober.

I think there is some truth in drunken speak, but the problem is you can't really extract those truths when their sober because it was something they said while drunk.
