Fakku Custom/Unique Ranks

So anyways I noticed that fakku has its own resident Onee-chan! Which is awesome but should more of us have such custom titles. Don't get me wrong Fakku Elite/Elder/uploader are swell but don't some of our member deserve something a little more unique. Like shouldn't Jacob be "Fakku Emperor" or Nikon as "Iron Chef Admin" maybe a Hibia "IRC Warlord" or how about Woe90 "King of teh lolis" (check out his upload thread to see why.)

anyways yeah wha'cha guys think and hell while you're at it come up with Custom for other user.

As far as i know the admins have already thought this out and i think they have the titles ready as soon as any of us meet the requirements like Noutakun and me got the Elder title... if you think you want more unique titles to be form why don't we ask the admins to answer your questions here ? what do you say Jacob ? Hibia ? Nikon ?

No. I don't like the idea of handing out custom titles all over the place. Jacob and I had a little chat after he gave rukia92 the custom title, and this was the reason I was against it. Once you hand one out, everyone will ask for one, and in the end the whole concept isn't that special anymore, not to mention it makes the people who actually have the current titles (Subber, Scanlator, Elite etc.) feel unspecial. Jacob and I agreed that his handing out the custom title was a bad idea, and knowing Nikon, I'm pretty sure he would agree too.

We are looking to reward people accordingly, which is the reason I created the Uploader and Elder titles. I don't think Custom Titles are justified; your username is a good enough indicator of who you are. However, I will be looking to create more titles in the future, possibly one based on the rep system.

The Resident Onee-chan title was just a joke by Jacob based on something said about Rukia. I think he said it was a temporary thing, so he can probably revert it back to normal now. Anyway, we can get a custom title with a high post count and a high rep, is that still correct Raze?

Jacob did say that back when FAKKU was dying every week or so due to running out of bandwidth, but that's not really it I think. It's more about being a helpful and contributing member to the community, participating in discussions, uploading stuff, distinguishing yourself. That's how I made my bones, and doubtless if someone showed ridiculous ability and intelligence, no doubt we would want the person to help us out. I think I only had about a hundred-something posts when Jacob pm'ed me about becoming an admin (but I had about forty-something rep). And believe me, the three of us often talk about certain users that we could promote to positions of responsibility, and post count has nothing to do with it.

I have absolutely no problem with giving Hibia the "IRC Warlord" title, because he's been an amazing and helpful person in many, many aspects. All he has to do at this point is ask, although that FAKKU Subber title is quite a big one in itself. XD

I agree on the part of everyone requesting for custom titles. If the staff were to accede to a particular member's request and not another's, the issue of favouritism may arise, disrupting the harmony of the community. Furthermore, it renders the normal ranking system useless.

In short, there are only two ways to satisfy all members: giving everyone who asks for a custom title one, which may promote a frenzy and increasing the workload of the Admins or sticking to normal ranking system.

damn it, not again! this whole custom title was a joke out of a very "uncomfortable" post about people hitting on me and what-not. Jacob, who is my ULTIMATE knight in shining armor, put that there as a joke and it was really funny in the moment... I promise. I'm just a FAKKU Elite here. That's all. Jacob will change me back soon... he's just killa busy.

man people took this a little seriously, there was a reason I posted in random and not serious discussion. I figure the actual idea of custom ranks was kinda dead in the water. I more or less indeed this tread for people to bull shit about what stupid/funny rank members of Fakku have.

Haha, that's funny. It really is. It makes me sound like one of those dudes in Blood Diamond. With the guns and muscles and shit. It sounds like a demotion though, because I could whip the pants off the warlords in Blood Diamond.

I think we should shift the topic of this thread. Instead of whether we should get them or not, we should talk about what we would want if we could. Personally, I've come up with a few, but right now the only one I can remember is "President of Calendars."

LOl anyway all in all customs ranks is still a no-go idea seeing problems waving in one after another...

Heh... actually, the idea of temporary joke custom ranks does seem kinda fun. (changes his own title as well as Hibia's to reflect an insider joke)
