You know, I'd be so all over this if my Japanese was better. Sadly, I just started translating doujinshi, which is hard kinda difficult all by itself. Having no written text to work with... instant suicide.

The test for fakku subs includes translating actual anime that has yet to be subbed without the closed captions we normally have so you can't cheat. It is not the easiest thing but if someone can pass they will be able to do fakku translations without any problem at all.

As I said, easier said than done.

I guess I should say now that the translator does get to pick the projects. We would prefer things unsubbed. In the hentai community there is no point to oversubbing unless something was done terribly which then we would consider it.

I can only speak for myself, but that test seems pretty intimidating. I know I'd fail. Maybe others think the same, but that's the only way to make sure the translator isn't some dipshit weeaboo who only knows 3 or 4 words in Japanese.

Exactly! Which is why I put such hard conditions on it. The best part is, Raze watches the entire translation be done line by line since it is done in google docs. So if the person isn't good then we will know about it. If he is good then we will probably congratulate him.

I think the majority (read: 99.99%) of the users here don't read or understand a lick of Japanese, myself included. Granted, I can speak some Japanese, but I still majorly lack knowledge of Japanese syntax, vocabulary, and the written forms. If teaming up with another subbing group can help out with manpower, I'd say go for it.

I have nothing against joints and I actively encourage them. Thing is, No one has offered to joint with us. I might ask a group or two but as of now I would have to do some more research about the many different groups. I would rather they come to me with an idea in mind.

Surprisingly to many people, subbing is not just type up a script toss it on a random raw okgo!
