//General
For those who don't know, I'm an aspiring video game developer. A title I'm currently working on is my first conceptual game called ZIN. I'm currently taking a break working on it until I can sharpen my art skills needed to help my colleagues. In addition to that, I'm focusing on web development which may help me fund the game to completion.
FinalRPG will be my official debut title which will actually be a web based MMORPG. This thread will show off samples of what I'm currently working on in relation to the actual game which includes but not limited to:
-Game Sheets (Characters, enemies, clothing, equipment, etc)
-Game Concepts (Quest info, Battle System, Character interaction Logic, Scene Choreography)
-Artwork (NSFW or Mild)
I'm planning on making FinalRPG free open source since it's experimental. I originally wanted to make this game in order to test out a personality engine I'm developing for a future released VR game me and my editor is doing research for on the side (Codenamed: Luck Is For Everyone). This isn't meant to be a one sided thread where I dump all my art and concepts related to the game. Your input as a critic is highly valued and appreciated. If you have any tips for me as a novice game developer, I'm ready to learn anything that may help me now and later on.
//Game Concepts
I.Plot
--------
A mischievious deity, that happened to create the universe grew bored of watching over the lifeforms she created. To eliminate her mundane lifestyle, she decided to give mortals a chance to become God and challenge her authority. To make things interesting, the Goddess erased everyone's memories. Then, she extracted half of her essence in the form of 15 crystals and scattered them across the world. Some of the crystals ended up in different timelines and were apprehended by various people. Those individuals got all of their memories back and are the source of envy and fear by all. In addition, each individual holding the crystals had their own unique ability that complimented the Goddesses powers. These crystals also caused a rift in the space time continuum. However, now that people can cross through different timelines regardless of where they're from in history, time itself is at a standstill. No matter what stimulus is introduced in a timeline, history doesn't change after 1 year. The only way to move history forward is for one destined individual to collect all the god crystals. Everytime someone collects a crystal, history moves forward for one more year. Once one year is up and no change in crystal ownership is made, time reverses to the original checkpoint. The individual who collects all the crystals earn the right to challenge the Goddess dubbed Final-Chan.
2.Rules and Guidelines
----------------------
Player's Role:
There will be 15 Playable Characters who have all gained their memories by possessing one of the crystals. The create a characters will be stationed in a shelter for adults and children who have lost their memories and have no where to go. Each timeline will have their own shelter and players will be assigned to one of those at random.
All the shelters are affiliated with each other. The shelters aren't only there to house and feed the lost, but to also train players into becoming warriors that will rise up against the merciless goddess. A player can choose to start fresh with their own created character, or choose from various premade Heroes/Villains that are scattered across the world. There are advantages and disadvantages for each choice. When the player opts to use sleepmode, a timer is set for 8 hours. If 8 hours pass and the player doesn't resume gameplay, the characters will go into autopilot mode. Autopilot mode can be dangerous in numerous ways due to the unpredictable nature of what can happen out of the player's control. Upon the player's return, autopilot will be turned off and control will go back to the player. In order to get a record of events that occurred in autopilot mode, the player can go into the "recap memories" option in the game menu.
