MS Paint fails at this. Is there a freeware equivalent to Photoshop that's usable for edits like this?
Namely, free form selecting of a piece from a picture and slapping it onto another accurately without dragging the background from the first pic with it?

Not surprising, ah well, anything better than paint is good. Klorofolun seems to have found gimp as well, so I guess I'll check that out, thanks to you both. :*

I just picked one of the ones that was already available on FireFox.
I don't really like them too different from what I'm used to. When I had a darker one I kept finding myself thinking that my window wasn't maximized and it distracted me.
