As for your question, it's probably because he wants to keep it private. It's not exactly easy to admit liking hentai. It's would seem weird to most people. It becomes a habit of trying to hide it when being around people. It happens.

Not really, at least two of 'em anyway. Usually when we find something good, next time we have a few buddies over, we call them over the computer and away we go. Mostly it's just bragging rights, trying to find the best stuff.

I can understand your friend's situation.

I tend to keep my hentai life private, only a certain few who shares an common interest knows about me liking hentai, VNs to be specific.

Society is still too constrain to accept all culture, including hentai. Thus, it's understandable why your friend as well as me to keep this interest a private part of our lives.

Well, I had a friend like that in college. I know he browses porn on the school 'net room, and when anybody (including me) comes to his computer cubicle and he then quickly goes to Google or some other harmless site, or closes the porn-related tabs and folders.

It's understandable if the breacher of his comfort zone is a teacher or a person he doesn't know whether likes hentai or not. But all of the guys at class knew I watch hentai.

So I surmise that people who do "freak out" whenever someone comes over to look at his computer screen and quickly hide their hentai stuff on PC, is equally concerned of two things: Either he is trying to maintain a squeaky-clean reputation (if the prospective onlooker is someone who he deems he wants to maintain a facade from, e.g. a professor), or he wants to keep his hentai preferences private to avoid possible discomfort (if the prospective onlooker is someone he knows to like or tolerate hentai).

I do the same thing sometimes without noticing it.



As said above I also feel the same way about my hentai stuff. I probably even didn't share it with anyone yet so nobody knows except the few people who "caught" me.

I mean, I do it sometimes. If I am looking at hentai or just some ecchi stuff, if someone walks into my room, I try to conceal it because of embarrassment. It's natural, and I should really share more of my hentai. My roommates don't even know I look at hentai.

Ill admit I like Hentai if someone asks me, Most of my friends accept it but they definately think its weird, Their into their "Proper" porn.

In any case, hentai is not something that is easy to admit, it is after all "wrong" in the sense that it's not normal. And we all know how much uncle sams kids and neighbours dislike abnormal.

You should probably, if it is actually the case, come out for your hentai liking to him. I mean, from the likes of it your relationship is not profiting from the situation at hand.
