Well I always... play tricks on people calling me about some survey or some merchandice. Lately I've been timing how long people will wait before they hang up if I say "Oh that sounds interesting. Could you wait a minute by any chance?" So today someone was calling about like survey about something and I'm going "Uh huh" and little things as he drones on and on... Half way through I tell him I have to check something and I leave. I come back ten minutes later he still there so he drones on again and I start answering him. I drop the phone on purpose and say like "Shit my dog, hold on" and I leave... I watch some FunAmation and I have completely forgotten about the phone. I go to order some Pizza Hut (Best food in the world!) and I notice the phones off the reciever... I say outloud "Whys this unhooked" and I hear a fucking voice >< Guy said "Hello? Your back? That was long. Is your dog ok?" and I'm feeling awful I must have been gone for A WHILE! I end up hanging up and unplugging the jack ><

If I didn't know that the guy gets paid based not only on what he sells, but also on how long he keeps a potential buyer on the phone, I'd think he was an idiot for waiting. Don't feel bad. You both gain something.

If I had that sort of job, I'd love for some guy to keep me waiting for a while, so I could mess around on the internet or play solitaire. That beats the shit out of trying to convince people to buy shit.
