I am sitting here, pondering how to properly organize an egg carton. I wish I weren't serious. I'm not OCD by nature, but there are two compulsions that I cannot resist: organizing egg cartons and perfectly frosting a cake.
There's an odd number of eggs in the carton, which means I am faced with a decision. Either I can eat one more egg than I intended to, or I can forget about the omelet tonight. It could, however, be worse. I have a cousin who counts sidewalk cracks as he walks.
What sort of weird compulsions do you have?

some eggs could be nice as a lunch or dinner. but i prefer only Sunny-Side-Up in the morning :D

I absolutely HATE when food touches. Everything must be seperate or I can't eat it. Also, don't like untidy bookshelves. They have to be stored from smallest to largest or else I get nervous...

Yeah, had that one too. I like hanging in my school library, and at times arranging manga series numerically.

The only thing I noticed is that while I walk, I count my steps from when I reach one crack to the other crack. Oh yeah. It has to be 6 steps per crack. When I do more than 6, (say 7) I must take 5 steps on the other crack to make it even. 4 steps? On the next crack I make it 8. Just to make the steps I take an even 6.

I must read all of your signatures whenever I see them. I know them by heart yet I have to. Same with any form of text. I feel like I miss out something when I miss signs at trains and in other situations when there is not enough time to read it all.
I pause my animes just to look at all the japanese signs I know and pronounce them for myself before I can keep watching, althought the pronouncition is propably more to feel like I am not slacking with my so called studies.

Am I the only one who thought this sounded funny? I don't mean that there's anything wrong with chilling in a library, I just thought of something else when I read it.
As for weird compulsions that I have, I really can't say. Lately it seems like everything I do is a compulsion, weird or not.

I'm afraid my bookshelf is horribly sloppy in terms of organization, but in my defense I just got it so my primary goal was to stuff it full of books I wanted to keep while I thrift-store purged the rest.
Has anyone else ever done this before? Sometimes when I'm in a car (not driving) and I get bored I memorize the nearest license plate just in case. Of course I don't remember it ten minutes later, but it calms me down.
