I picked the book up because it looked 'mildly funny', at Borders. Anyway, it turns out that one of the two authors of that book made the Sandman series.
Anyway, I picked up the book...and from page 1, it was an all-out lol-fest. Honestly, there has never been a book that has made me laugh so much! It's insane!
The book is basically about the End of the World--the Apocalypse. A Demon--named Crowley--and an Angel--named Azipharel (something like that) are witnesses to it, as well as friends. The Ineffable Plan, however, gets shot to Hades when, *gasp!*, it seems that someone's misplaced the Antichrist!
There's also copies of the bibles with bloopers, like the 'Not' version, in which the word 'not' is deleted ("Thou Shalt Commit Adultery"), and the Bugger-Alle-version, in which the scene where Adam and Eve are cast out of Eden ends with this talk between God and an Angel:
25 And God spake, saying, "Where is thy flaming sword which thou hast been bestowed?"
26 And the Angel spoke, saying, "Blimey, it must have fallen around here somewhere, forget my own head next!"
27 And God did not ask again.
It's friggin hilarious, but the end is a real surprise...I never expected things to turn out the way that they did.
Oh, and there's a lot of Queen in there, too. ^_^
Has anyone else read this book?
