I'd go for Transformers. Where else can you find robots that can transform into vehicles/airplanes/autos, can fight by themselves (no pilots!), get their own $200M+ movies, and can even talk jive and trash in them?

Well it deponds on which Gundam and which Transformer, because there r some boring gundam. Their R some crappy Transformers too. If u go with the first shows than i would have to pick Transformer,but over all I am going with Gundam.

Gundams for the win. To me, Gundam is like the pinnacle of mecha, and then Zoids. Transformers, meh, didn't really attract me as much.

Gundams, I'm not really all for the mechs that can talk. I like having somebody in the machine pushing the buttons.

Hmm I'm not sure what this battle is about. Is it the cartoon vs anime storyline or the robots vs mechas?
In term of story I prefer Gundam. In term of the robots vs the mecha, at first I'm thinking of choosing the Transformers but then I decided Gundam is a better choice. Cool looking design and because of Turn A Gundam. Keyword=Moonlight Butterfly...

For me it's the Gundams they're what got me into mech animes in the first place. Here's a motivation to help the thread used from the pic that GSDAkatsuki provided.

Tough call. On one hand, Gundams have the Wing Boys, Amuro, the damn Federation, and blasted Newtypes, plus the emo-crybaby main heroes and the 'teens are great'! anime tropes that piss me the hell off and drive me away from things.
On the other hand, the TFs got Wheelie, horrible writers, and worse fanbase.
So, well...they're even?

Pretty sure were talking combat here Tifa. By the way i prefer Gundam. Not only for the fact the can dish out more damage than a transformer ever could but they have the awesome life size gundam zero standing in tokyo this year for gundams' 30th aniversary

I choose Gundams though it's a very tough decision for both choices cause they're both my favorites.
