Hair metal VS grundge

There were many hair metal bands in the 80's,mÃ¶tley crÃ¼e,W.A.S.P,white snake,poison,warrant,etc.Then hair metal died out in the 90's and grundge took over,nirvana,pearl jam,alice in chains,foo fighters,smashing pumpkins.which do you think is better?

Don't like either, but I THINK I prefer Hair Metal over grunge... just barely.

Grunge. Despite some of the other influences in their music, Alice in Chains works for me.
