Right now I have a 4MP Kodak EasyShare. It's the sux. I need a new one that's preferably under $300, but a little over won't hurt. Here're my preferences:
- Reliable
- Lense doesn't get dusty easy
- 8MP minimum
- Some kind of wicked awesome image stability so I don't get fuzzy shots (fast shutter speed is good too)
- Good zoom
- Good movie recording quality
- Fast auto-focus
- Shooting modes that actually DO something
- Having a good-sized SD card in the deal is good but not required
- Being able to rig it to hook up and use as a webcam would be awesome, but again not needed
Can you help me, FAKKU? Personal recommendations are more what I'm looking for because anyone can just look up [fake] reviews on the internets.
I don't know, and you can delete/edit this post if you want, (I still remember what we know you for XD) but I think you should get a Nikon. Just because you can.
Well let's go for 7MP then. I basically want maximum quality for my price range. Something that's not gonna start degrading in quality after a year or two like my Kodak did.

If you want something that last long, maybe you should ask the people who bought them and try them at least about a year or so...
I couldn't know how long a camera last just by looking at them ^^;
Never owned a digital camera before. Never found the need, there was always someone around who had one.
Here is what cnet thinks is the best digital camera for $200-$300 with 8mp resolution
