Another band I just remembered about, Trans-Siberian Orchestra. They're progressive mtal, progressive rock, symphonic metal, and clasical, all mixed into one hell of a band. There's 14 vocalists, 14 musicians, and 2 narrators (what?).
Sup, I'm not sure if this thread is dying, but this is gonna be my first post on this forum so, hello guys!
Anyways, i listen to quite a bit of metal, not many of them are that well known though, but sometimes that's a good thing!
I'll list a few:
Demon Hunter, Probably one of my favorite metal bands (That don't scream all of the time, the lead singer has some of the best clean vocals i have heard in metal)
These guys also got me into the heavier bands, so they're worth a listen.
Spoiler:
and one of their harder songs:
The Ascendicate, I'm not sure how to describe these guys, kind of like a non-shitty version of Slipknot
Spoiler:
Corpus Christi (No, not the shitty black metal band)These guys have fairly unique sounding lead singer, and their guitarist provides nice clean vocals on most of their choruses, a tiny bit harder than the other guys i posted, but still worth a listen.
Spoiler:
Maylene and The Sons of Disaster, if you like some metal with a groovy southern flavor, these guys will definitely hit it home for you.
Spoiler:
Hope you like at least one of these, if not, never mind, we all have different tastes, mine is just better than yours ;D
Grave Digger (a german Power Metal Band. they're singing englisch)
Finntroll (they're making a mix between Black Metal and Irish and schwedisch Folk Music)
this two are good bands and i think you will like them
This is an article on how to enjoy death metal. I came upon this by accident, and I think it's a pretty good article if you don't know how to appreciate it (hence the article's title name).
Hmm I'm not sure if these have been listed already but Baroness, Mastodon, Opeth, and Trivium. On another note Led Zeppelin didn't really do any metal. The closest they really go was Kashmir and that can only be classified as hard rock.
"Skullstep" Drum & Bass is like heavy metal for machines:
The intro may be a lot longer than you're used to though, so give it a minute to warm up.

For their time, Led Zeppelin were metal. They were a hard rock band when metal didn't quite exist as a legitimate music genre term, so they were more or less "metal".
