Help me in choosing my next keyboard and mouse.

Okay, so I am going to buy a new keyboard and mouse combo to go with my new computer that I bought because for some reason my old wireless combo doesn't work. I am willing to spend up to $70 including tax. I have found three potential combos but if any of you know of ones better feel free to suggest one. I would like everyone's opinion on these combos.

I'm just going by looks here but...

I'm leaning towards the Second Combo.
One reason being, is I find that big hunk plastic in front of the keyboard on the First and Third Combo pointless, I don't know what use it holds but I find it bothersome.

All those keyboard/mouse setups have those features. They're all made by Logitech.

Depends what you're going to use the mouse for, if its gaming defiantly go with the MX518 or G5. Otherwise you don't really need anything fancy, a $15 keyboard will do in any case and a decentish mouse. I preferably hate wireless mouses as low end ones suck up alot of battery life and they feel heavy.

animeholic1, I believe it would help if you would give us info about what you are going to do with it. Also, info like what kind of works space you have, the length of time you actually use keyboard & mouse, and etc. Well, I can't speak for all the users, but I don't know what you really do except FAKKU! Of course, you don't have to share this kinda info if it's too personal. I will vote (if it even matters) after more info.

From what I have read about the combos and its reviews. I myself would go with the third choice because I do heavy duty work with the keyboard and mouse. I do a lot of writing with my comp. The only problem I might have is the battery life. I just hate when it dies when I am doing something important or I can't click to download hentai. So, I myself might go with the first one because of battery life, but that's just me.

I usually am using my comp for eight hours a day everyday and I do a lot of typing as well as some gaming (not much tho recently). I have never required a high dpi (think that's what it's called) mouse for what gaming I do but I do like for the mouse to move smooth (no on screen lag). My work space is rather large so space isn't a issue. What I am looking for mostly is quality. I want this to last a long time as in the buttons not fade and signal weakening over time.

Ok, with that I myself think the best choice for you is the second. From what I read before, I believe the second has the best review compared to the other two. I think the first one was really made for looks and feel. There is a problem with the third keyboard about not being able to hold up for heavy duty use. The second combo would be best.
