How do i get files with .rar to work on my computer?

Every time i downlaod a file that has .rar at the end i cant get it to work on my computer is their anyone who knows how to get it to work?

What program are you using? I've also noticed that .rar files with excessively long names can cause problems.

Or even 7-zip. How any of these programs work is by extracting files from the compressed .rar archive. Pretty simple, and after the extraction you can just delete the .rar file.
