Co-workers describe it as a mechanical chuckle, and I don't blame them. I'm no fun at work, and even if something funny does happen it never really generates an appropriate laugh from me. At home it varies depending on how funny something is, but apparently I get very high-pitched.
I don't really laugh any more because when I was younger I would laugh histericly at any thing remotely humerus and I ended up trying has hard as possable to not laugh at all. Now I probally just go "hmm" or "ah".
Depends. I tend to laugh in different tones and ways depending on the situation... and hilarity.
Though my sisters tend to describe most of my laughs to be sarcastic and insulting. They should find it that way - I always laugh when I see their school grade cards ^_^
One person said it was fake. Others, who say anything at all, say it's creepy, sadistic, or weird.
I actually have several laughs for different situations...
1) A dry, nasal, and low volume phasing low, and deep throatal. Short, even bursts. Starts similar to a dog trying not to bark. Comes out when I see people in pain, mental or physical, usually on T.V. I believe most often when the plot device used is overly cliche, unbelievable, or stupid. Never when someone is actually severely hurt.
2) A Ms. Krabapple style "Ha!" when someone is proven wrong, does something stupid, or is shattered in a single blow.
3) Um... "Eh-heh" A short first-half snort second-half exhalation. For when people make a funny that isn't so. More polite than sarcastic.
4) An extremely high, giddy, giggle. "hehehehehe." Used only when alone when I'm exceptionally excited, usually when finding a new anime, a good download, or something significantly cute. I also retract my arms as a laying cat and shake them.
5) My "that's genuinely funny" laugh. Varies. I change it up, sometimes it's fast and low, others like Goofy. Sometimes I exhale sharply before beginning.
--that's all I can think of in my tired, half intoxicated state.
Know of Sayuri Kurata from Kanon? The girl that voiced her laugh in a distinctive "Ahaha?" I do the exact same thing, although not as cute, obviously. XD
I never thought it was weird until I watched Kanon. >.<
