How do you guys surf?

People have their ways of surfing the web, and sometimes even with just Fpods laptop I'm sometimes driven crazy by its setup compared to mine. So the question is, how do you guys do it?



I use mostly my bookmark toolbar, so I rarely am typing in websites to search. If I want to search google, I don't even type google.com I just use my google toolbar at the bottom left.

That drives me crazy with Fpods toolbars, because he has the Fakku toolbar where I have my google toolbar, and the search boxes are in the same spot. So I always type in what I want for Google and then get A search for Fakku's forums ;|

I keep forgetting to bookmark sites, so I usually just type teh first 2 letters. I should probably go bookmark my sites...

My toolbar is minimalistic. All I really have are the basic command bar, a news ticker, and the address bar. I use the suggestions on the address bar to navigate, and google for new content.

I've also learnt choice codes, and locations. In a jobsearch, I use "seattle.craigslist.org/tac/jjj" It's faster than going there manually, and the webpage titles (the basis for my suggestion system) are generic throughout craigslist. I also used to remember the codes for piratebay searches, although I don't do it as much now.

I only really use the internet for this, alternative news sources, media, and guitar tab anyway.

I primarily use IE, and I only have the menu bar and the adobe pdf. I usually type the address in, unless its a specific page like an item on ebay

No toolbars, just the address bar. I type everything in. If I happen to bookmark something I Press Alt to open up the Menu bar (Firefox).

I find that opening 39851730671036 tabs while I surf is the most effect way.

I usually have a few tabs open. I removed some names from the toolbar to have more bookmark space. And even though there's a Google thing in the upper right, I click the home button to Google.

I have a Google toolbar as well. I rarely bookmark sites (unless I think I'd forget and the site is epic) and use the most visited/recently visited sites on the "new tab" page for IE. Then everything else I visit via my Google toolbar, and it's handy because I can see which links I visited before (frequently) by clicking on the down button.

I use google chrome and all I have to do is type any searches or urls into one small bar at the top. then I just hide the bookmarks with ctrl b and I have much more space than other browsers.

as for tabs and the like I usually open em in different windows on different sides of my desktop. that way I can easily change and get back to work if someone happens to pass by while I'm browsing fakku

I have google toolbar, bookmarks and that's basically it. I've been proud to call myself a firefox man for over 2 years now. Almost never open anything in a new window, I tab till I can't tab no more.

Google toolbar. Get it. Seriously.

I dont really bookmark sites because the mousepad on my laptop kinda sucks, so i do as little clicking as possible. (You would be suprised how hard little tabs can be to click with this thing.)

My toolbar is pretty much the exact same as it comes when I installed Firefox 3.5. I even have a Google Toolbar, but I never use it. I always "physically" go to Google.com to do any and all searches. I don't use bookmarks either. I rely on my history so I can type one or two letters of an address and pick it from the list, otherwise I have everything memorized.

I'm simplistic I guess. XD

I have to say, I laugh every time I go to click on this thread now. All thanks to Pen making me see "How do you guys stuff?"

I like having the page be as big as the browser window as possible, so I don't use any toolbars and stuff that cause more clutter at the top. I just have google set as my homepage, that searchbar thing in the top right corner (usually set for wikipedia), and a bunch of different bookmark folders (some of which have lists going halfway down the screen).

Also I shapeshift into a spider.

Open browser window, fill with tabs until you have to scroll through the tab bar for a few minutes to get from one end to the other, open next browser window, fill with tabs until you have to scroll through the tab bar for a few minutes to get from one end to the other, open next browser window, ... and so on.

I never use bookmarks other than those in the Bookmarks Toolbar, which is my "to-do" list for links. Before closing my browser I drop everything there I need to digest next time. Then I delete them. Oh yeah and I use Bookmark Folders in the toolbar for funny little gimmicks. That is all. Everything else is done via the location bar (and -rarely- the search box) and drag-and-drop.

I use a lot of tabs at the same time. Just like the gentleman before me, I often have to scroll through them...

In my bookmarks toolbar are mainly dictionary pages. And some music related stuff.

My bookmarks are just for nice pages I found. I normally type in the first two letters of a site and there I go. Don't have a lot of tabs.

In my bookmark toolbar, I have sites I visit often.
The rest, I type into google, while trying to open as few tabs as possible. I like to keep my browser tidy.
