As for me I've learn chinese, english, bahasa melayu since elementary school. Picked up hokkien, cantonese as i grew older. My first language is chinese and english being the 2nd, it kinda get mixed up here when we speak to each other (not really a good thing)
Currently in the progress of learning japanese, though I'd say i understand 40-50% of what they say in anime (proof of watching too much?)

I speak English totally fluently (obviously). I'm in the process of learning German but I know enough to list it as a second language. Since I'm Canadian I should be able to speak at least enough French to keep from embarrassing myself but I stopped in Grade 9 and never spoke it after that. Now that I've picked up German it pretty much mopped up the vestiges of French I still had kicking around. It's gotten so bad that my Japanese is superior to my French and I can't speak it well at all.

I'm living in Ottawa and want to work in the government so it's kind of like being a footballer that's shit at free kicks. It's possible work around it but if you want to get to the top you need that skill. I might move to Europe after I graduate University though so it could be a moot point. If I don't become a Canadian politician it would be worthless skill. That's why I'm sort of embarrassed to not speak it. That and it keeps me out of French pussy.

I can only speak chinese and english fluently. I can also speak my local chinese dialect fluently but it has no seperate written language so I guess it doesn't count. BUT the op seems to regard canto as a language and that really doesn't have a seperate written form either (traditional and simplified are both regarded as 'chinese' for me).
I can speak a little bit of japanese, but I can read a whole lot more (not enough to play japanese games, it's far too tiring and I don't have the patience).
As for understanding stuff in anime, I understand about 30% without visual and about 50% with visual and it's CLEARLY a case of watching FAR too many animes as my japanese in normal conversations are no where near that level.
