Well our teach wanted us to ponder this philosophical(?)statement she made us write:

Chaos is everywhere. It is abundant where civilization has planted its feet. It is something that has been part of our daily lives. It is not limited from the simple couple fight to the more complex after effects of wars in the world. In fact, it is everywhere, even if you cannot see it. Remember the Yin and Yang. As they both collide with one another, there is chaos amidst them but they are in harmony. If that chaos is removed from existence, what would you think would happen?

It would be more difficult for us to appreciate peace and tranquility or harmony I guess is the word, or we wont even be able to. How can you appreciate something that yuo dont even know of. Its like having a hundred bucks beneath the carpet, but you never knew it was there.

Chaos isn't a real force; it's not something that can disappear. It's an idea, a way of looking at things.
Everything happens for a reason. Every single action has some sort of reason behind it. Physically and mentally. When a typhoon hits, it happens for a reason; when a person murders another, it happens for a reason. Thus, you could say that chaos doesn't really exist. The typhoon hits because certain wind conditions were met, and the murder occurs because the murderer let his desire outweigh his guilt and fear.

That is the dumbest question I have ever heard. Seriously it bypasses the "there are no dumb questions" rule. What your teacher asked boils down to "if things didn't happen what would have happened?" obvious answer, nothing at all.

Chaos is the driving force of the universe if you look at it.
Think of the atom. You cannot accurately pin-point it. Electrons can never be pin pointed as they move too fast, however if you get into the subatomic particles, it's been shown that the particles can, and do, exist in two spaces at one time, and because of this the location of a proton or neutron is simply a % probability that the said particle is in that location. It's part of the probability curve.
The particles are basically chaotic in nature.
If you were to take that away, what would the consequences be? Would the molecules suddenly change in property? Become unstable?
Now, from the social and moral aspect, without chaos it would be incredibly difficult to appreciate good. However, if you classify the actions one takes as either bad, neutral (apathetic) or good. Wiping bad will wipe the good. That leaves just neutrality.
If everyone was neutral, and if there were no new ideas, actions, whathaveyou, that isn't exactly what I'd be willing to call life.
I think the point I'm trying to get at is that chaos and order are balanced on a scale. If you take one end away the other will sink low and maybe even break the scale.
If you'll excuse me now, It's 5:30 AM and I need some decent sleep. Let me know if my nocturnal nature has butchered that reply because I C.B.A. to check it right now.

No chaos = boredom. Widespread terror, havoc, and discord makes the world much moar interesting. The equilibrium must also be satisfied.

Well it only seems chaotic if you don't understand the cause and effect. As Einstein said, the roll of a dice only seems random to human eyes. In reality, the number on the top of the cube is certain from the moment the dice is released. It's all physics and shit. I could explain but it'd blow your minds.

But Chaos is just a label mankind has given to "mass effect." like a hurricane destroying million, people would see that as chaos, but i see it as cause and effect.

but i believe the reason why there are opposites in the world is so that our world can keep progress and evolve through battle of wits, without chaos, harmony will basically be in a stand still, redundant and bland
