I either buy my software or I find free alternatives that accomplish the same thing. For example, I buy my computer games, but I won't buy Photoshop since I will never use all of its features, so I have The GIMP and Paint.NET instead.

To be honest, most software is above a price I would even consider.

For example, Adobe Photoshop costs hundreds of dollars. There is no way in hell I'm going to pay that much for a single application. Seeing as I rarely use it anyway, I feel no guilt in pirating that one. In fact, most Adobe products are way overpriced.

I sometimes pay for products I use every day, and I especially feel enough guilt to pay when its from a very small company, or else a single freelance programmer. My price range is anything under $20.

I torrent it all. I'm not sure if I actually own anything that's on my computer.

Video games i buy, I have no problem buying games at all. On the other hand, over priced computer software like Photoshop, i'll torrent 90% of the time if there is some reason i can't get a legit copy. My father's work buys alot of programs like photoshop, but does very little with them or so sometimes i get a taste of what they don't need. I got CS3 this way XD

whatever i can get free and with all the usable features (such as online play and stuff like that). the only few software i actually paid for are... the orange box <3 , the free software that comes with a macbook and windows vista... dont ask about why i paid for vista =.=

I first look on the net if its cracked or if theres a free alternative, if not ill consider buying it. As for games, i only buy games that have multiplayer, if its singleplayer i just download it... Im a "not-so-rich" student and cant afford to buy 10 kinds of software every month, and getting a drivers license isnt cheap either over here :roll:

some i take from others, other i torrented and if my friend won't lend it to me, i'll just go to school with a portable drive and copy what i want from the school softwares(they've a whole bunch)

i've paid for one pc game(i think it was crisis) and decided never to buy another game ever again(u can find almost anything on internet, free of charge for downloading).

Video games for any modern console that isn't PS2, I buy. PS2 games, I torrent and burn to use with Swap Magic, unless I have some loyalty to the developer (Banpresto). Anything from the N64/PS1 age and older, I torrent and play the games off of emulators, if I don't already have to game to rip onto my HD.

I usually either buy PC games, or burn one of my friends' bought copies, since we have the same tastes in PC gaming, and at least one of us will most likely go out and buy the game on launch day. Eroge....pfft, like I'm gonna pay for jackoff material. That's an instant torrent.

I buy anime for the most part, unless the series is obviously not coming over here, in which case I just download it. Though I will download a series b4 I start buying the DVDs, just so that I know that I like it, and only delete the episodes that I have on DVD now.

So yeah, it all depends on the thing in question.

The only softwares that I ever paid for were great games like WC3, COD4 that required auth keys to access the online features. And of course, the entire series of Windows. Photoshop, Dreamweaver and the rest can be easily obtained via... alternate means.

Umm Photoshop, lol that's an expensive program there bud. I've bought the Kaspersky Internet Security suit, System Mechanic 7 Professional, Macromedia's Suite, Donated to Daemon Tools ^.^. And the Adobe Suit. As well as AutoCad. Autocad was so expensive... I've only used it like 4 times. I buy most games, except for WoW because I play on private servers. Although I do have a copy of WoW version 1.0.

Any other program/music I've gotten through completely legal terms.
I do buy music when I can. Whenever I have the money at I'm at music world anyways.

i haven't bought any software since fallout 2 in 1998, everything else is just been torrent torrent torrent...
