my stone-age internet connection clocks at max.50 kbps real-time download and max.320 kbps upload.pathetic,huh?

I have Comcast cable so the Readyboost feature they have will sometimes double my speed. I even heard they are even watching for when you do a speed test and making it kick in just for that.
Nonetheless, here is mine taken from http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ :
Download Speed: 19892 kbps (2486.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 1561 kbps (195.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
So that's 2486.5/1024= 2.42 MB/s down
and 195.1/1024= 0.19 MB/s up
Nonetheless, here is mine taken from http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ :
Download Speed: 19892 kbps (2486.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 1561 kbps (195.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
So that's 2486.5/1024= 2.42 MB/s down

Roughly 1.15 MB/s and a 50-70 KB/s upload. I've always been pissed with people using bits and bytes interchangeably.

+ depending on the person, a kilobyte could be 1000 bytes or 1024 bytes. the kiB standard thats trying to come mainstream only has the definition of being 1024, which it should be anyways in the first place.

Got the same case with mnx here, my download speed is about 40kbps-70kbps,
Yeah, my country sucks bad, they encourage kids to study with internet, but they don't even bother to raise the speed first.
And worse we only have one gate and it's not located in the heart of our country. Imagine how many speed are shared for more than 30 provinces, one little mistake and our internet goes down the drain.
I envy you guys. :D

is that good? im not sure i don't usually bother with stuff like thatLOL. Well elfen lied, the higher the mbps, the better. And 1.5MB/s is frikkin fast. It means downloads/torrents will finish in a flash. I have a 1 Mbps connection.
