Is it worth it?

I'm sort of on the fence at the moment as to whether or not I should buy this. As to what this is, it's a functional replica of Nietono no Shana. Comments?

I'd buy it at $60, except I feel that you're getting for what you paid for. If I remember correctly, Shana's sword was pretty damn long, more or less nodachi length, so a 2ft and 3in blade? Seems a bit short to me. A Nodachi in length covers 5ft long. Shana's sword was a long as her, and I'm assuming she's 5ft tall.

I'm more partial to western swords myself... yea katanas are beautiful when done up right... but those swords are generally reeeeealy expensive. besides there's nothing like having a claymore hanging in your living room for your guests to see. especially if they know that you are going to school to become a funeral director ^__^

I don't really understand the point of buying swords. Guns you can take out and shoot at random things, or even hunt with them or use them to protect yourself, so I can understand them, but with a sword, you can't really do anything with them. Well, you can slice things up with them, but if the sword is cheap, like blind_assassin said, the blade will go to hell, and who wants to pay hundreds of dollars just to be able to cut up some stuff?

All you can do with a sword is hang it up for decoration, and most of the time, the sword's going to be in its scabbard, so why not just buy a wooden sword for a lot less? Then again, I'm the wrong person for this sort of thing.

$60 is a decent price for a sword, depending on how big it is. For a 40 inch sword, it seems a bit much. Just imagine holding the thing in your hands and thinking, "I paid $60 for this."

Yeah pretty much have to agree with what's already been said.

The sword looks good, however I don't like the sound of being able to 'dismantle' a battle ready sword.
Don't know a lot about metal, but it's not Stainless steel, so that's good.

So yeah, for 60 bucks; the worst that could happen is you wind up with a nice looking sword for your wall, but high chance that's how it would be anyway.
lol the one reason I could never bring myself to buy a high quality blade(high quality being 'normally' around $400) is, what would I do with it? Yeah hacking random shit is fun! But...to what extent?

yes, as in you clean it... it's normal for a katana, they /all/ come apart (or should) they take time to put back together right tho >.<
