Is time to let people know that Gundam is not the only Mecha

Personally I am a huge gundam fan (you name a gundam series and I'll tell you I've seen it or read it). But so far in most of these mecha posts, all people ever posts are "I like this XXX gundam" or "I like this XXX girl in a gundam".

The mecha industry in Japan is very large. Just to name some examples from the recent animes or the more "popular" ones; we have

PLEASE, when the title ask you "What mecha do you like most", don't just substitute mecha for GUNDAM. Think of all the good mecha shows out there.

What?! all of that and no mention of Robotech? Or Voltron, you sir disappoint me. There are hundreds of others, every season of power rangers for example has at least 3 mecha in it.

Hmm, there is also Patlabor.

This is probably a bit off topic, but the reason "Gundam" is used so often, is because of all the Gundam anime. Only the number of Veritech designs could hope to come close to the number of Gundams.

Aside from Gundams, I like the Aestivalis. Code Geass almost made me forget that Aestivalis were the first mecha I saw to have wheels on their feet.

Somebody body please ! add Bakuretsu Tenshi on their list i finally remembered the favorite mech i've seen in the anime is the one this anime has yeah i personally like gunslinger type mechs not bombard or cannon type...

personaly i love the gundams but after moble suit gundam well the show went to shit it became more romance than good ole action however i am willing to onece again try to watch the seris if someone would post links to videos of the episodes(o by the way my fav is wing gundam and endless walts i own the hole seris XD)

Ahem...he mentioned the latest 'Robotech.' Oh wait, Robotech is the crappy Harmony Gold translation. It's called Macross and it's considerably expansive. It's the only mecha series that has multiple anime sagas like Gundam, with the recent being Macross Frontier. On another note, it should be stated that Harmony Gold sucks for holding onto Macross and refusing to translate additional ones, though it means that it's okay to download that series I guess...

Oh, and I'm more of a Real Robot anime kind of guy, though I'm starting to make exceptions (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann). The ones I'm most familiar with tend to be included in Super Robot Wars at one point or another.

Also, on the topic of Gundam...yeah, tons of mangas are missing, most of which I only have a loose idea of the story. Of course, they're not all official, but tend to have interesting mecha designs.
